Abstract We study the Stochastic Thermodynamics of cell growth and division using a theoretical framework based on branching processes with resetting. Cell may be split into two sub-processes: branching, by which given gives birth to an identical copy itself, resetting, some properties daughter cells (such as their size or age) are reset new values following division. derive first second laws for this process, identify separate contributions due apply our well-known models control, such sizer, timer, adder. show that entropy production resetting is negative positive these in regime exponential colony.
